In November 2007, UNESCO — through its Social and Human Sciences Sector — launched the Greater Horn Horizon Forum in Djibouti, together with a group of intellectuals from the region and its diaspora, to address urgent challenges of conflict, poverty and identity. UNESCO remains the Forum’s founding partner. The two bodies co-organise the Bridging Horizons webinar series on regional peace, security and sustainable development, drawing on UNESCO’s expertise in education, the sciences, culture, and communication and information alongside the Forum’s analytical insight.
